Arctic Safari Guides Is Ready for Winter 2026–2027
After an unforgettable winter season, we're excited to begin preparations for Winter 2026–2027.

Last season, we had the privilege of welcoming guests from around the world to Finnish Lapland. Together we explored Riisitunturi National Park, admired the frozen waterfalls of Korouoma, visited Ranua Wildlife Park, searched for the Northern Lights, fished on frozen lakes, and created magical Christmas memories for families visiting Rovaniemi.
Every season teaches us something new.
But one lesson remains the same.
The most memorable Lapland experiences are personal, authentic, and built around genuine human connections.
A New Chapter
My name is Timo Tapaninen, founder of Arctic Safari Guides.
For more than 13 years, I've worked in Lapland's tourism industry. During that time, I worked my way up to become the Chief Operating Officer of one of Lapland's largest safari companies, overseeing operations, guides, and guest experiences on a large scale.
The experience taught me a great deal about tourism, leadership, and customer service. But it also confirmed something I had felt for a long time.
My favourite moments were never behind a desk.
They were the moments spent outdoors with guests.
Sharing stories around a campfire.
Helping someone catch their first fish.
Watching a family witness the Northern Lights for the very first time.
Introducing visitors to places that have been part of my own life since childhood.
That's why I founded Arctic Safari Guides.
My vision was to create a company that combines authentic local knowledge, outstanding hospitality, and carefully designed small-group experiences led by passionate local guides.
Experiences for Winter 2026–2027
For the coming winter season, we're proud to offer a carefully selected collection of experiences showcasing the very best of Finnish Lapland.
These include:
Northern Lights adventures
Husky experiences
Reindeer experiences
Ice fishing adventures
Riisitunturi National Park tours
Korouoma Frozen Waterfalls tours
Ranua Wildlife Park visits
Santa Claus experiences
Forest Elf Treasure Hunt adventures
Ruka winter day trips
Many of our experiences have been refined and improved based on guest feedback from previous seasons.
Our goal isn't to offer the largest selection of tours.
Our goal is to offer experiences that guests remember long after they return home.
Why Choose Arctic Safari Guides?
Our philosophy is simple.
Create the kind of experience we'd want for our own family and friends visiting Lapland.
That means:
✓ Small groups whenever possible
✓ Relaxed pacing without unnecessary rushing
✓ Experienced local guides
✓ Genuine Lapland hospitality
✓ Safety-first guiding
✓ Authentic Arctic experiences
✓ Professional photography included on many tours
Although Arctic Safari Guides is growing, the philosophy remains exactly the same as when I guided every tour myself.
Every experience reflects the values I built the company around: authenticity, professionalism, respect for nature, and genuine care for every guest.
Easy & Secure Booking
Booking your Lapland adventure is simple and secure.
Reservations are managed through Bókun, one of the world's leading booking platforms for tour operators, while payments are processed securely through Stripe.
You can check availability, reserve your place, and complete your booking with confidence.
Looking Ahead
Every winter is different.
The Northern Lights dance across different skies.
Snow conditions constantly change.
Wildlife follows its own rhythms.
That unpredictability is part of what makes Lapland so extraordinary.
Whether you're visiting Lapland for the first time or returning for another Arctic adventure, my team and I look forward to welcoming you and sharing this remarkable part of the world with you.
Hopefully, we'll see you in Lapland this winter.
