It Feels Like a Fairytale
Arctic Safari Guides' First Winter Season Has Begun!

Autumn has arrived in Lapland, the Northern Lights season is already in full swing, and you can almost smell the first snowfall in the air. The days are getting shorter, the evenings darker, and nature is once again preparing for the long Arctic winter. This is one of my favourite times of the year.
I have to admit, so many things happening right now make me feel as though I'm living in some kind of fairytale.
Just last summer, I was planning to run this season almost entirely on my own, perhaps with the help of one additional guide. I had plenty of ideas, plans and dreams, but I could never have imagined how quickly everything would start moving forward.
Now I can share something with you that still feels a little unbelievable: the Arctic Safari Guides team will grow to no fewer than 15 employees this season, most of whom will be working as guides.
The popularity of our experiences has genuinely taken me by surprise. I'm incredibly grateful to all of you who have already joined us on an Arctic adventure or booked an experience for the coming winter. I'm equally grateful to our wonderful and highly professional team, with whom we're building all of this together.
So Much Has Happened – And So Much Is Still Ahead
Since my last blog post, life at Arctic Safari Guides has been moving at quite a pace.
We've moved into a larger office, reorganised our operations, invested in equipment and prepared new facilities and resources for our winter experiences. We've also been building our team, developing our tours and getting ready for the busiest part of the winter tourism season.
We've learned a lot along the way. Sometimes the hard way, as often happens when you're running a business. And I'm absolutely certain there's still plenty more for us to learn.
Despite all the busy days, it's been wonderful to see so many things gradually falling into place. What was little more than a plan on my computer screen last summer has now become a real, growing company filled with people, expertise and shared enthusiasm.
I Want to Show You the Lapland I Know
I was born and raised here in Lapland. These forests, lakes, fells and changing seasons mean so much more to me than tourist attractions. They are my home.
That's why I care deeply about the experiences we offer our guests.
I've never been a huge fan of mass tourism. Of course, I understand that Lapland is becoming increasingly popular and that more and more visitors are travelling here every year. But I believe the most memorable experiences often come from the simplest moments.
The silence of a snow-covered forest. The warmth of a campfire on a freezing evening. The Northern Lights suddenly appearing in the sky. Or simply having a guide who genuinely has time to stop, share stories and answer your questions.
That's why we want to organise our experiences in small groups whenever possible, using vehicles with a maximum of eight guests.
We don't want every excursion to feel like a race from one attraction to another, constantly watching the clock. We want to give you the opportunity to enjoy Lapland at a more relaxed pace, just as we locals do.
I know that not every tour or every day can be perfect. Weather conditions change, nature is unpredictable, and sometimes plans need to be adjusted. But that's part of experiencing the real Lapland.
What If We Could Show You Lapland in Your Own Language?
One of the biggest decisions we've made this autumn concerns something that is personally very important to me.
We would love for as many of our guests as possible to experience Lapland in their own native language.
That's why we've brought together an international team of guides with an exceptionally diverse range of language skills. Our team speaks several European languages, bringing a whole new dimension to the experiences we offer.
I believe that a travel experience becomes so much more meaningful when you can communicate with your guide in your own language. It becomes easier to ask questions, share a laugh, express your curiosity and understand those little cultural details that might otherwise go unnoticed.
This is an ambitious goal, and I already know that achieving it won't be easy.
Lapland welcomes visitors from all over the world, and unfortunately, we cannot guarantee that every guest will have a guide who speaks their native language on every tour.
But what we can promise is that we'll do our very best to make it possible.
I also believe that our international team is one of our greatest strengths. Every team member brings their own culture, experiences and perspectives. We're constantly learning from one another, and ultimately, it's our guests who benefit the most.
Welcome to Experience Lapland With Us
As I look ahead to the coming winter, what I feel most of all is gratitude and excitement.
There will undoubtedly be long working days, surprises, successes and challenges ahead. But right now, it truly feels like we're building something special.
I want to thank every one of our guests, partners and team members for being part of this journey. Without you, we wouldn't be where we are today.
And to those of you planning a trip to Lapland, there's one thing I'd really like to say:
Come with an open mind. Don't fill every minute of your holiday with schedules and plans. Give nature and Lapland a chance to surprise you.
You don't always need to be in a hurry here. Sometimes the best memories are made when you simply stop for a moment.
I'll leave you with a few photos from our tours this autumn. I hope they give you at least a little glimpse of the wonderful atmosphere we've already had the pleasure of sharing with our guests.
See you in Lapland!
