What is included in the Reindeer Safari?

All experiences include pickup and drop-off in Rovaniemi, a visit to an authentic family-run reindeer farm, time to meet the reindeer, a reindeer sleigh ride, an Arctic Safari Guides guide and professional photos.

You simply choose the length of your sleigh ride when booking: 400m, 2.5km or 3.5km.

What is the difference between the 400m, 2.5km and 3.5km experiences?

The 400m Standard Experience is an easy introduction to reindeer sleigh riding and includes a Reindeer Driving License as a fun memory of your visit.

The 2.5km Extended Adventure gives you considerably more time travelling peacefully through the snowy Arctic forest.

The 3.5km Premium Adventure is our longest option and is designed for guests who want to spend even more time experiencing the winter landscape from a traditional reindeer sleigh.

Are professional photos included?

Yes. Professional photography is included in all three rates.

Your Arctic Safari Guides guide captures photographs during your visit so you can concentrate on enjoying the experience. The best photographs are professionally edited and delivered to you digitally after the tour.

You are of course also welcome to take your own photos and videos.

Is the reindeer sleigh ride suitable for children?

Yes. The experience is family-friendly and a wonderful way for children to meet reindeer and experience travelling through the snow in a traditional reindeer-pulled sleigh. Children must be accompanied by a responsible adult.

Is pickup and drop-off from Rovaniemi included?

Yes. Pickup and drop-off in Rovaniemi are included in all three experiences, so you don't need to arrange your own transportation to the reindeer farm.

Will we learn about reindeer herding?

Yes. During your visit, you'll learn more about reindeer herding, the daily life of the animals and the traditions surrounding reindeer in Finnish Lapland.

Do we get to meet the reindeer?

Yes. The experience is about much more than the sleigh ride. You'll have an opportunity to meet the reindeer up close and learn about their daily care, behaviour and role in life in Lapland.

Can I choose the length of my reindeer ride when booking?

Yes. Choose between the 400m Standard Experience, 2.5km Extended Adventure and 3.5km Premium Adventure when making your reservation.

Please note that the 3.5km Premium Adventure is available only on the 2:00 PM departure, while the 400m and 2.5km options are available at 9:00 AM and 2:00 PM.

What should I wear?

Dress warmly according to the weather. The experience takes place outdoors, and sitting in a sleigh can feel considerably colder than walking.

Warm winter clothing, insulated footwear, gloves and a hat are especially important during the coldest months.

If you don't have suitable Arctic clothing, a Winter Clothing Set can be added to your booking.
